Wonders of figure skating

I often wonder if the parents out there actually realize that the chances of their children getting to the Olympics in this sport is really millions to one. I believe everyone should practice hard but to actually think that killing kids with excess work at age 8 is going to get them there is ridiculous. Don't they realize that when puberty hits all bets are off. Even with the best youngsters. Just thought I would post this observation

    Well hopefully someone will find me and tomorrow I will add to what I think of figure skating and those in it

    As I coached and watched a competition this past weekend, I wondered, who is this sport for. The athletes or their parents. Watching one parent come unglued in the coffee shop just made me sick. Her husband couldn't get through to her so I imagine no one else could either. Apparently her child was ok with the results but she wasn't. So sad to watch
